Which plan is right for me?

Accepted Answer

If you're prototyping or building a proof of concept, the free Starter plan gives you up to 1M objects and 10K queries/month. For production workloads with growing traffic, Pro supports up to 10M objects, 1M queries/month, and includes features like BM25 search, INT16 quantization, and manual backups. For large-scale or enterprise-grade deployments that need RBAC, audit logs, automated backups, and a dedicated account manager, Scale is the right choice.

What happens if I exceed my monthly query limit?

On the Pro plan, you are automatically charged $99 for every additional block of 1M queries beyond your included quota. On Scale, it is $999 for every additional block of 10M queries. On the Starter plan, queries are capped at 10K/month with no overage option - you would need to upgrade to continue querying.

How does upgrade pricing work?

If you upgrade from the free Starter plan to Pro or Scale, you pay the full subscription price immediately. If you upgrade from Pro ($99/mo) to Scale ($999/mo) within the same billing cycle, you only pay the difference of $900 for the first month, since your Pro payment is credited.

How does Hybrid Search affect my object quota?

Each hybrid search record is stored as two objects internally - one dense vector for semantic similarity and one sparse vector for keyword matching. This means 1 hybrid record counts as 2 objects toward your plan's total object limit. For example, on the Starter plan (1M objects), you can store up to 500K hybrid records.

What kind of support do I get?

Starter includes standard email support. Pro includes priority email support with faster response times. Scale includes priority email and phone support along with a dedicated account manager for hands-on assistance with architecture, migration, and optimization.

Do you offer an SLA?

Accepted Answer

The Starter plan does not include an SLA. Pro offers a 99.5% uptime SLA, and Scale offers a 99.95% uptime SLA, both covering the availability of query and indexing endpoints.

What backup options are available?

Starter does not include backups. Pro includes manual backup and restore with up to 100 GB of storage - you trigger backups whenever you need them. Scale includes fully automated backups with configurable policies (schedule, retention period) and up to 1 TB of storage.

Can I select my deployment region?

Region selection is available on Pro and Scale plans. You can choose the cloud region closest to your users or data to minimize latency. Starter plan deployments are assigned a default region.

What is RBAC and who can use it?

RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) is available exclusively on the Scale plan. It lets you assign granular roles - Admin, Collaborator, and Read-Only - to team members. Pro plan users can invite team members, but without role-level permissions.

Filter Boosting lets you increase the relevance score of results that match specific metadata filters. This is useful when you want filtered results to rank higher without completely excluding non-matching results. It is available on Pro and Scale plans.

There is no free trial for paid plans. However, the Starter plan is free forever and lets you test all core search capabilities including Hybrid Search. You can upgrade at any time when you're ready for production.

What are the object dimension and top_k limits?

Starter supports objects up to 2,000 dimensions with a top_k limit of 128. Pro supports up to 4,000 dimensions with top_k up to 1,024. Scale supports up to 8,000 dimensions with top_k up to 4,096. Choose your plan based on the embedding model you use and how many results you need per query.
