Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build the distributed systems that form the backbone of Endee's vector database. You will work on core database internals: storage engines, query planners, indexing pipelines, and replication protocols. This is a high-impact role where your code will handle billions of vectors and serve latency-sensitive queries at scale.

• Design and implement core database engine components including storage, indexing, and query execution
• Build and optimize distributed consensus, replication, and sharding layers for horizontal scalability
• Profile and optimize performance-critical code paths for throughput and latency
• Design APIs and internal protocols for multi-tenant vector database operations
• Conduct rigorous code reviews and contribute to architectural decision records
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for systems programming

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Go, Rust, or C++
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and data replication
• Strong command of data structures, algorithms, and systems-level performance optimization
• Experience with database internals, storage engines, or query optimizers is highly valued
• Familiarity with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and high-performance networking
• Track record of building and shipping reliable, production-grade distributed systems
